This recipe quickly became a weekend favorite in my house. Everyone loves dipping the crispy waffle quarters into the warm syrup!

Ingredients

  • Waffles: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt, 2 large eggs, 1¾ cups whole milk, ⅓ cup unsalted butter melted, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Syrup Dip: ½ cup pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • For Serving: Optional fresh berries, whipped cream, powdered sugar

Step 1:
Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
Step 2:
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3:
In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
Step 4:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined do not overmix (some lumps are fine).
Step 5:
Lightly grease the waffle iron. Pour batter onto the hot iron (about ½ cup for each waffle depending on your iron). Cook until golden and crisp about 4 5 minutes per batch.
Step 6:
Remove waffles and cut each round into quarters.
Step 7:
For the syrup dip melt 2 tablespoons butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the maple syrup and heat until warm about 2 minutes. Pour into a small serving bowl.
Step 8:
Arrange waffle quarters on a platter with the syrup dip bowl in the center. Serve with optional berries, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
